Introduction A2B A 40 mg/5 mg Tablet is a medicine used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It is a combination of two medicines that effectively controls blood pressure when a single medication is not effective. It helps to lower high blood pressure and thus reduces the chances of future heart attack and stroke. This medicine should be used along with a proper diet, salt restriction, and regular exercise for best results. It should be taken regularly with or without food at a fixed time every day. This medicine should not be stopped abruptly as may result in sudden increase of blood pressure. You may experience mild dizziness initially while taking this medicine, but this improves with time. Swelling of the ankle may occur in some patients as a side effect. How A2B A Tablet works A2B A 40 mg/5 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Telmisartan and Amlodipine. Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB). They work by relaxing the blood vessels and making the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. Together, they lower blood pressure effectively. A2B A Tablet related warnings Alcohol UNSAFE It is unsafe to consume alcohol with A2B A 40 mg/5 mg Tablet Pregnancy CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR A2B A 40 mg/5 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor. Lactation SAFE IF PRESCRIBED A2B A 40 mg/5 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. Driving UNSAFE A2B A 40 mg/5 mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. A2B A 40 mg/5 mg Tablet may cause side effects such as dizziness, headaches, nausea or tiredness, all of which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive. Kidney SAFE IF PRESCRIBED A2B A 40 mg/5 mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of A2B A 40 mg/5 mg Tablet is recommended. Liver CAUTION A2B A 40 mg/5 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of A2B A 40 mg/5 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
