Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Acecold Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time. How Acecold Syrup works Acecold Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Cetirizine and Ambroxol, which relieves cough. Cetirizine is an antiallergic that treats runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Ambroxol is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Acecold Syrup related warnings Alcohol UNSAFE Acecold Syrup may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol Pregnancy CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR Acecold Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor. Lactation CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR Information regarding the use of Acecold Syrup during lactation is not available. Please consult your doctor. Driving CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR It is not known whether Acecold Syrup alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react. Kidney CAUTION Acecold Syrup should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Acecold Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. May cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease. Liver SAFE IF PRESCRIBED Acecold Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Acecold Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
